Since prehistoric times India has a rich tradition of learning and education. The aim of education in India has explicitly recognized 'self-realization' as the supreme goal of life. It has always been the main focus of the Vedic Knowledge. Vedas, as the universal constitution of mankind, based on the principles of natural and divine laws, have such concepts which are equally applicable to the individual, family, social, national and global lives for their all-round developments. Talking about values or ethics, it is actually means understanding the righteous path of life. Right from a birth of the child till his life every aspect of life has been dealt within the Vedas. One's upliftment based on consciousness, self-control, honesty, purification of thoughts, fulfilling the 'Pursartha-Sidhi is what our Vedic system preaches. Today all of us have a lot of aspirations but none of us are aware of the right path to achieve them. One such eg - Yajñavalkya-Maitreyi dialogue not only suggests us the way (i.e. dedication, detachment etc) but also informs us that how a thought can bring a difference to the society. So, from thoughts to ethics our whole value system & behavior is the reason for our healthy life. To carry out fruitful changes in today's society, there's a need to move towards Vedic era. ABOUT THE SPEAKER - Dr. Aparna Dhir is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Indic Studies, Institute of Advanced Sciences, Dartmouth, USA, and an alumnus of the University of Delhi. Holding a Ph.D. in Sanskrit with a focus on Vedas and Indology, she brings a wealth of expertise to her work. In addition to her academic role, she serves as the Director of INADS Press and is actively involved with WAVES as the Honorary Secretary (Admin.) and Assistant Editor, fostering awareness through conferences and publications. Dr. Dhir is the author of "Yajurvediye Brahamano mein Jyotish ke Tattva" and has co-edited significant works such as "Veda-Vidya-Srih: Gems of Vedic Wisdom" and "Innovative Applications of Vedic Knowledge in Modern Times." With over 40 research papers, more than 30 published articles and blog posts, and a remarkable record of 33 international and 50 national presentations, her contributions have significantly enriched contemporary discourse on Vedic wisdom.
